FAQ

Is volunteer booster club president coverage different from paid booster club president coverage?

Expert insurance guidance from Players Health — protecting youth sports and fitness organizations across the country.

The Short Answer

Booster club presidents can be held personally liable for decisions made on behalf of the organization — including how fundraising money is managed, events that are held, and contracts that are signed. Directors & Officers insurance is the key protection for this exposure.

Many booster clubs mistakenly assume they are covered under the school district's or league's master policy. In most cases they are not. A booster club needs its own general liability, D&O, and sometimes property policy independent of the school.

Players Health works with hundreds of school booster clubs and parent organizations. A basic booster club package — general liability plus D&O — typically costs $500–$1,200 per year depending on annual revenue and activities.

If your booster club runs concession stands, parking lots, car washes, or other fundraisers, those activities need to be listed on your policy. Players Health can ensure your coverage extends to all of your organization's revenue-generating events.
